Welcome!

Come along and visit our Club. We love our gardens, but often need some advice!

We provide morning tea, followed by a guest speaker or Q&A 'Gardening in the tropics', hot-swap table, display bench, plant sales, raffles and  special events.

If you have any questions, please ask a Committee Member, or our friendly Hosts who greet’ visitors.


Membership is $30.00 the 1st year (includes Club Badge) and $20.00 per year from then on.

'Hot swap' table

Members are encouraged to bring one or two plants or home produce (i.e. eggs) with an approximate value of $10-$15 to ‘swap’. You are given a ticket in exchange and after the talks, the numbers are randomly drawn, you pay 50 cents and pick an item from the table.

Library

Every month our meeting has a 'theme'. Books on the same theme from our extensive library will be on display and  can be borrowed. We have books, DVD's and magazines that you can borrow for a month. The Library also houses our free Seed Bank.

Plant Sales

If you have surplus plants, pots etc. of good quality, you can bring them along to the Club to sell - 10% commission goes to the Club.

Barry's - Show and Tell

Barry was previously a professional landscaper and nursery man. Alternating months he gives a light-hearted talk on what is growing - or not growing in the tropics- in his and other members gardens with an accompanied slideshow.

Visits & Bus Trips

Visits to members gardens are arranged on the 3rd Tuesday each month. These are followed by lunch at a local tavern/restaurant. We organise overnight bus trips and trips to other groups Field days during the year. In 2016 members travelled to the exotic gardens of Singapore, 2017 members visited the beautiful gardens of New Zealand taking in The Taranaki Garden Festival, 2018 members enjoyed the magnificence of the Melbourne Flower Show and in 2019 travelled to the Qld Garden Expo in Nambour.
